Enjoy photographing people? This is a great opportunity to improve your portraiture skills!

We’ll be working outdoors (weather permitting) and in the studio within a controlled lighting environment. The session will cover  all the essentials; the do’s and dont’s of posing, and how to light your subject – from simple lighting solutions you can re-create at home, to using a professional studio lighting set-up. It’s very much a hands-on experience; I’ll talk you through each lighting setup as I do it, then it will be over to you to shoot. We’ll be working with an experienced Uk model who will work with the posing positions I have taught, or will take direction from you.

You will gain confidence in your portrait photography through understanding how to pose, position and light your model.

The workshop is three hours of hands-on practical application and is limited to 8 participants to ensure everyone has an opportunity to shoot.

All you will need to bring is your camera; a DSLR or Compact System Camera, ideally with a flash sync socket to take full advantage of the studio lighting equipment. As this is a practical workshop, there are no presentation slides or printed hand-outs, so you may wish to bring a notebook to capture the information shared.
